It takes a lot for me to look up places and leave reviews. I Ordered on Uber Eats and long story short there was a mix up with my order. I just want to say my faith in humanity and great customer service was restored. The staff here re-made my order and not only that the food was great. The tostada salad was loaded for the price...the taquito plate was delicious. Everything I ordered was fresh and good down to the drinks and salsas!! I’m extremely thankful for them ...and I’m definitely ordering again. Probably tomorrow hahaha.
I start by saying I find it interesting that Google reviewers have Pepe's listed at 5 stars, and Yelp rating is 3. I found Pepe's on Google while searching for "best crunchy tacos near Los Alamitos". Thank goodness I found them on Google as I may have skipped them if my search was on Yelp as my rating for Pepe's is a solid 5 stars. I ordered 1 papas (potato) taco, 1 shredded beef taco, and 2 chilis. They have a nice salsa bar that includes sliced radishes, limes and pickled onions. The potato taco was everything! I'm a beef eater and found the potato taco VERY satisfying! Delicate, light, fluffy, whipped potatoes in that crisp fried shell, ice cold finely shredded lettuce and cheese...hit it with the spicy salsa and have a bite of the seasoned chilis with every bite of your taco...heaven! The shredded beef taco was equally great! Nice portion of beef in the taco. The chilis are salted and covered in some seasoning, chamoy maybe? I don't know what it was, but I do know they were the best I've had. So good! I'm adding Pepe's to my list of must hits whenever I'm in town. I'm so mad we don't have one in San Diego! Always come here when at the GARDENS CASINO. prices went up again! Plates are 14. But it's good food and they don't skimp. This place is about the SALSA BAR! 4 flavors. Lime wedges. Sliced radishes. Try the warm peppers on the counter.best ll Pastor tacos anywhere
Really enjoyed the food. Meat portion in Taco was very generous (with quality) The yellow chili with seasoning was amazing...the sauce bar with fresh radishes was welcoming. Overall the food was very good, already scheduled a date this month to drive back from San Diego for another round of Tacos.
Probably the friendliest drive thru cashier I have ever experienced. New to town and been here two days in a row and they are so accommodating and genuinely friendly.
I love this place. Has best Mexican food in town. Does not have soups or birria. But tacos and the rest are on point. This location is in Hawaii gardens, across from casino. They also do not carry shrimp, there is a location down the street for that one. Customer service is amazing. Always clean. Tasty food

1st time trying this establishment. I usually go to Tacos San Pedro which is a block or two next door. I'm glad I finally tried this place. The food is excellent. Loved it. Will be back again. A must try if you're in the area.
